WaveBoard leverages out of the box SharePoint discussion lists. You can still utilize all of the functionality inherent in SharePoint plus much more. You still have the power to use alerts, RSS feeds, the web-based interface, search, and workflow – because this is still SharePoint!
Your users have full control over all subscriptions/alerts and can easily opt-in and opt-out of any email-enabled discussion list from a single central location – they don’t have to find the discussions individually. Your users also have the ability to flag themselves as ‘out of office’ to pause delivery of all messages while they are on vacation.
As the administrator, you can determine which lists are ‘mail-enabled’ and which lists are not. You can also see which discussions your users are signed up for. You modify, by discussion, which users are subscribed, and you can modify, by users, which discussions they are subscribed to.
